AMP Teen Center Made Possible Thanks to Donations

We are excited to announce that, in September, our new AMP (Aspirations Made Possible) Teen Center will open in the Y Annex to serve local teens. With a focus on academic achievement, career preparation, service learning and leadership development, the Teen Center will nurture the potential of youth and help develop the skills they need to become responsible community members.

Thanks to recent donations of $30,000 from Husky Energy and $10,000 from the Dominion Foundation, the Teen Center got the boost it needed to become a reality.

These gifts will allow the Y to continue its work with teens in literacy, leadership development, academic tutoring and mentoring.

Teens at the Y will also be able to participate in Youth in Government, Robotics, AMP (Aspirations Made Possible) Teen Council, Teen Leaders Club, World Service, Black Achievers, college visits, arts and wellness classes.
