Ages 18 and up. Educational class to teach proper techniques to adults. Information based on the progressive swim series.

This program provides the opportunity for Aquatics socialization and enjoyment while using water buoyancy and resistance to help improve joint flexibility and muscle strength. No cardiovascular segment.

Monday, Wednesday, *Friday: 10:00 - 10:45 am or 5:30 - 6:15 pm

Aqua Fit

Work out to fun aerobic routines while staying cool.  A low impact, cardiovascular workout in the shallow end of the pool.

Water Safety Instructor Course

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor - Must be at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer.

You will learn organizational and presentation skills that will help you in any career and make a difference in people's lives.  Whether you want to splash around with kids and teach them to swim, help children and adults refine their strokes or teach diving safety techniques, you can do it as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.

Pre-Requsites:
-Minimum age of 16 and demonstrate the following swimming skills
     * Front Crawl - 25 yards
     * Back Crawl - 25 yards
     * Breaststroke - 25 yards
     * Elementary Backstroke - 25 yards
     * Sidestroke - 25 yards
     * Butterfly - 15 yards
     * Maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling)
     * Tread water for 1 minute

Summer: June 3 -6; 12 noon - 7:00 pm

YMCA Lifeguard Classes Summer

Youth and Adult

You must be at least 15 years of age at the completion of the class and be able to swim 300 yards (Freestyle or Breaststoke).  You should be able to retrieve a brick from the bottom of the pool (depth: 12 1/2 feet).  Tread water for 2 minutes only using feet.

Summer: May 28 - 31                
               9:00 am - 5:00 pm
