Adaptive swimming lessons is a unique program designed to meet the individual needs of the participants with disabilities. Emphasis will be placed on water safety and basic swimming skills.
Class is 30 minutes long, with an additional 15 minutes of free time at the end for a total of 45 minutes.
All classes will be held in the Therapy pool which is approximately 88-90 degrees. A responsible adult must accompany each participant into the water.

Prerequisite:6 years of age and completion of the Pike and/or Eel class or consent of Aquatics Director.
Goals: Paddle on front, back and side 25 yards with float belt, 20 feet without.
Check the program guide for class dates and times.

Prerequisite:Completion of the Polliwog and/or Ray and/or Starfish class or consent of Aquatics Director.
Goals: Front paddle with rotary breathing for 25 yards. Jump in and paddle for 10 feet, then float for 10 seconds and return to the side.

Prerequisite:Completion of the Guppy class or consent of Aquatics Director.
Goals: Over-arm development of strokes. Standing dive off deck.

Prerequisite:Completion of the Minnow class or consent of Aquatics Director.
Goals:Development of front and back crawl, breast stroke, sidestroke and butterfly. Endurance 50 yards in each stroke, butterfly 25 yards.

Prerequisite:Completion of the Fish class or consent of Aquatics Director.
Goals:Continued development of all strokes. Endurance 100 yards in each stroke, butterfly 25 yards. Flip turns for front and back crawl.

Prerequisite:Prerequisite: Completion of the Flying Fish class or consent of Aquatics Director.
Goals:Complete a 200 individual medley. Streamlining kick variations.
