As part of the Lima YMCA's focus on healthy living and wellness, the Y is working with a local farm, Ber-Gust Farms in Waynesfield, Ohio, to bring fresh, all natural fruits and vegetables to our facility during the summer and fall.
The idea is simple. Starting the first week of June, weather permitting, and continuing approximately 22 weeks, Ber-Gust Farms will deliver fresh produce once a week to the YMCA. The produce will be an assortment of what is ready each week at the time of harvesting. Example of produce that may be in the weekly box include: tomatoes, bell peppers, cauliflower, cucumbers, eggplant, squash, zucchini, green beans, potatoes, and much much more. In 2009, the farm offered 40 different fruits and vegetables.

Depending on box size and number of people using the box of food, there is generally enough food for the week and some to put away for winter use. Payment can be made at the time of delivery, monthly or all at once. Ber-Gust Farms accepts cash, checks or Visa and MasterCard.
