First Robotics (RFC)

The First Robotic Competition (FRC) combines the excitement of sport with science and technology to create a unique varsity Sport for the Mind.  FRC helps high-school aged, grades 9 - 12, students discover the reqarding and engaging world of innovation and engineering.  Team meetings beginning in January 2012 at the YMCA Annex.


Home School Gym & Swim

Home school youth, join us for some exciting fun!  This class will teach youth different sports including basketball, soccer and softball.  Youth will finish up the day with a fun swim.  This class will also include special holiday activities and gym games.

Thursday: 1:00 - 2:45 pm

Photography & Visual Arts Classes

For Grades 5 - 12
Photography and visual arts classes for middle school and high school students will be held at the AMP Teen Center. 

Thursday:
5:00 pm = Middle School Students
6:00 pm = High School Students


Lima/Allen County College Access Program at the Y Annex

The College Access Resource Center is open every Tuesday during the school year from 6:00 - 7:30 pm at the Annex.  Free assistance is available to individuals of all ages on colleges, careers, financial aid, ACT preparation and scholarships.  The College Asscess Resource Center is located in Suite 1 on the second floor of the YMCA Annex building.

Power Reading for Grades 1 - 12

Pump up your child's reading with our Power Reading course.

In Lima, Reading Plus® has helped over 200 students advance to the next level.
Whether you are trying to catch up to your peers of preparing for the ACT or SAT,
Power Reading will give you the boost you need.

During our Power Reading course students will flex their mental muscles as they increase vocabulary,
reading speed and comprehension.  Power Reading begins with an assessment before putting
each student on an individualized plan for success.

AMP Teen Center

Middle and High School students AMP Teen Center in the YMCA Annex is now open! 

Tutoring, Mentoring, Fitness Classes, Work Shops, Games, Gym Time, etc.

Check with Teen AMP Center for full schedule and programming.

Middle School Fit Club

For Grades 6th, 7th & 8th

Exercising at an early age can develop good habits, but youth can also develop long-term injuries with improper technique.  This program is designed to teach young people how to use the fitness equipment correctly and learn about proper gym etiquette.  We will meet in the studio and spend much of the time in the YMCA Wellness Center.  There are only 10 spots open per session, so sign up ASAP!

C.A.T.C.H.

(Coordinated Approach to Children’s Health)

Come join in a health and wellness program designed specifically for kids 8—12 years of age. Through this fresh new approach to fitness activities, participants enjoy not only the immediate benefits of better health but also the positive life-long impact it can have on their lives. This class is jam-packed with maximum participation games designed to increase muscular strength, build endurance, improve flexibility and develop life-long fitness skills.

Monday & Wednesday:  5:30 - 6:15 pm
